Beer culture is coming of age. At any store, restaurant, bar, or friend's house you can now find at least a few good brews. In fact, there seem to be so many new beers, breweries and bars it's difficult to separate the good, the bad, and the mediocre.

If you're going spend $10 on one beer, what should you buy? If you're going to drive 2 hours to check out a brewery, what's worth your time? If you're going to plan a Friday night, what has a good selection and friendly atmosphere? We're here to help you answer these questions.

Upcoming Event: Oktoberfest by the Bay

What: Oktoberfest by the Bay
Where: Fort Mason, San Franicso, CA
When:  FRIDAY SEPT. 30: 5pm-12am SATURDAY OCT. 1: DAY 11am-5pm | NIGHT 6pm-12am
SUNDAY OCT. 2: 11am-6pm
What: Celebrate 200 years of Oktoberfest at San Francisco's Fort Mason. Traditional German beers, food, music, and dancing.

The Chico Bavarian Band and the Internationals provide live music for the duration of the event. Also including Deutscher Musikverein of San Francisco. http://www.sfgermanband.org/. Traditional Bavarian dancing is provided by the Nature Friends Schuhplattler and takes place every couple of hours.
