Why we're here...

Beer culture is coming of age. At any store, restaurant, bar, or friend's house you can now find at least a few good brews. In fact, there seem to be so many new beers, breweries and bars it's difficult to separate the good, the bad, and the mediocre.

If you're going spend $10 on one beer, what should you buy? If you're going to drive 2 hours to check out a brewery, what's worth your time? If you're going to plan a Friday night, what has a good selection and friendly atmosphere? We're here to help you answer these questions.

Double Nut Brown

Double Nut Brown is an American Brown Ale by the Mammoth Brewing Company of Mammoth Lakes, California.

I bought this at Tower Liquor for $4.99 for a 22oz bottle. It has an ABV of 5.0%

The aroma is of sweet roasted grains with hints of coffee. The taste is a subtle roastiness, with some sweet almost fruit notes. The finish is dry with lingering roasted almost burnt flavors. It has a medium to heavy body with low carbonation. There is a faint backbone of nuttiness.

Overall, I'm not a fan of this beer. The flavors are one note and there is an unpleasant bitter after taste. I suggest you Skip It.

If you want a good nut brown ale, get Samuel Smith's.
