Beer culture is coming of age. At any store, restaurant, bar, or friend's house you can now find at least a few good brews. In fact, there seem to be so many new beers, breweries and bars it's difficult to separate the good, the bad, and the mediocre.

Upcoming Event: 44th Annual Oktoberfest with Turn Verein

What: 44th Annual Oktoberfest Sacramento Turn Verein
Where: 3349 J Street, Sacramento Turn Verein
When: This Friday October 7th from 6pm to Midnight and this Saturday October 8th from 3pm to Midnight.

Turn Verein which means gymnastics club, is Sacramento's German Cultural center. It was founded in 1854 and claims to be Sacramento's oldest instution. This is there 44th annual Oktoberfest Celebration. Its $15 at the door.

You get real German polka, rock bands, folk dancing, imported Oktoberfest beer from Munich, and all the German food you can stomach.

This is THE Sacramento Oktoberfest. It gets crowded so get there early!
