Beer culture is coming of age. At any store, restaurant, bar, or friend's house you can now find at least a few good brews. In fact, there seem to be so many new beers, breweries and bars it's difficult to separate the good, the bad, and the mediocre.

Ass Kisser Double IPA

Ass Kisser Double IPA is brewed by Rahr & Sons Brewing Company of Fort Worth, Texas. While brewed at Rahr & Sons, Ass Kisser is its own unique brand. The blog is a bit confused, because the website states they have other beers, but can't seem to find them.

You can buy Ass Kisser at BevMo in Sacramento. It has an ABV of 9%.

The beer pours a cloudy, light amber with a thick, creamy, off-white head that leaves thick lacings.

The aroma iscaramelized malts, toffee, bready, and earthy with pine and citrus hops. The flavor is seet with dominant bready malts  and earthy, grassy and citrus hops, not your usual DIPA. Very oily and moderatesweetness. The alchol flavor and warming is strong. Its a medium thick body, decent carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall, I'm not a fan of this. It wasn't exactly what I expected from an DIPA and it also didn't change my expectations. I guess you should Try It at some point, but there are plenty of other DIPAs to try first. I appreciate their po
